Biography
Maea discovered surfing through friends while in middle school. Growing up in Tahiti, she was initially wary of the ocean’s unpredictability, but that fear motivated her to push her limits. Surfing quickly became her lifelong passion. She expresses herself on the waves much like her first love, Tahitian dancing—with a fluid and graceful style inspired by surfers such as Vahine Fierro and Caytlin Simmers.
